RealEats Celebrates Opening of New Production Facility
On Thursday, Year 1 Grow-NY winner RealEats announced the official grand opening of their new production facility in Geneva, NY. The 80,000 square-foot facility employs nearly 150 people and is the new home for preparing, cooking, and packaging the company’s meal delivery service offerings.
The new facility boasts advanced cooking, cooling, sealing, and freezing capabilities, as well as additional space for packing and boxing orders. The production team is able to cut sealing time nearly in half in the expanded space.
Founded in 2017, RealEats delivers healthy and delicious chef-crafted meals that customers can prepare in six minutes or less. The company credits Grow-NY for providing them with much more than just funding.
“In 2019, we needed something big to happen, and it did,” said Dan Wise, CEO and Founder of RealEats. “We were encouraged to apply for the Grow-NY competition and out of 200 companies, we were chosen as the top prize winner. It was a game changer for us and helped us receive regional, national and internal recognition.”
The brand recognition gained from Grow-NY helped RealEats secure meetings with venture capitalists and gain introductions to potential team members, mentors, and advisors in the Grow-NY region and beyond.
“We are so fortunate to find a home in the Finger Lakes,” said Wise. “The area is home to over a number of family farms that we source from, and it’s where the real food and the real people are.”
Since claiming the $1 million prize in the inaugural Grow-NY competition, RealEats has raised over $20 million in additional funding, sold over 3 million meals to customers across 44 US states, and entered a partnership with GNC. At the grand opening, Wise announced RealEats will now be available in 2,400 GNC stores nationwide. Customers now have the ability to order RealEats products in stores or on the GNC website.
